EPDirect Provides Industry First Software Collaborative Shaping 

Adelaide Australia, Dallas, TX – March 1, 2007.  NetPriva today announced the availability of NetPriva EPDirect.  NetPriva End Point Direct, "EPDirect", is a software-only distributed traffic shaper that provides application delivery with guaranteed bandwidth and prioritization. This delivers consistent application acceleration response direct to the end point i.e. the desktops & servers of remote office, branch office, and home office users of business critical applications without the need to install or configure a physical appliance.

NetPriva has released a new software only solution that is economical, simple to deploy and can be managed centrally for any size and type of remote location. Known as End Point Direct or “EPDirect”, it guarantees bandwidth and prioritizes application traffic direct to the end points of the network. Users can now be assured of consistent response for their business critical applications.  

EPDirect entails advance protocol acceleration techniques and deploys in a true networking agent methodology which uses the local area network connection for multiple PCs in a remote location. It’s managed centrally and totally transparent to remote users but in effect provides them with a personalized connection to the network.  EPDirect is packaged with a network visualization tool as well which provides real time network visibility and management of network applications and users active at the remote office.  

In addition, EPDirect is fully application, URL and user identity aware thus allowing management policies to be applied on applications, URLs and/or users throughout the remote office.  EPDirect works with compressed and encrypted data, making it conducive to today’s network security needs.   EPDirect also entails flexible data traffic marking based on policies, applications, URLs and/or users thus allowing for priority passage to complement carrier network services such as MPLS.
